Parenting Connection WA
Parenting Connection WA recently partnered with Debbie, Fiona and ADHD WA to bring three webinars to parents and carers across WA. Our experience was incredibly positive from our first planning discussions to the final event. Each webinar had a different focus with Debbie and Fiona being well prepared with an engaging presentation full of parenting tips and information. It is clear they know the ADHD world very well and can offer a lot to families involved in it. Their presentation style is warm and friendly, and they can explain new concepts well. The feedback from participants was overall incredibly positive and many parents/carers joined more than one webinar. There have been requests for us to work with Fiona and Debbie again as it seems to be a growing need for parents today.

Thank you again for all your help this term. Our child in Year 10 achieved academic straight As. We are so proud of her not just for her grades but for all her work with you to build her ability to work independently, plan her studies, and use the tools you have helped her develop to focus and motivate herself. We couldn’t be happier with her results. Thank you again.
Michelle - mother of a son recently diagnosed with ADHD, Perth
Fiona has been an incredible support to our son, and our whole family, delicately and insightfully explaining to us all how the ADHD brain works. By better understanding our son, we are now equipped to support him, and most importantly, Fiona is giving him the tools to be the best version of himself and unlock his superpowers. He finally feels listened to and understood, and that brings joy and a sense of peace that he has long been craving. Thank you Fi!

The first session with Debbie Hirte was spent uncovering Miss T’s ADHD brain, what her Superpowers were and how to use those to better navigate her world. Miss T has learned that she can accomplish her goals, by understanding how each of her Superpowers is most effective and when. It is such a proactive and supportive place for Miss T to understand that by having a diagnosis of ADHD does not make her less competent, it just means that she lives in a world where ADHD is the second language. Debbie has taught her that ADHD is not a ‘broken’ thing. I look forward to seeing Miss T’s face before every session, it’s magic.
Justine C - Adelaide Parent and Adult
Like many women, my ADHD journey has been long and non-linear. Undiagnosed for 48 years my challenges really began after the birth of my second child. The increased cognitive load of raising 2 boys with ADHD, working and keeping our home ticking along, led to increased anxiety, depression and constant episodes of overwhelm and exhaustion. Working with Fiona has been life-changing as I unpack my diagnosis and what it means on a daily basis. Fiona is exceptionally knowledgeable, intuitive, and incredibly compassionate and encourages me to look at things with new perspectives. Some days I'm a complete mess, others I’m revved up and verbally processing, but she is right there with me in the moment. I can be totally vulnerable, but I always feel safe and leave our sessions with tools I can implement right now, which has been invaluable in validating my feelings and building my self-efficacy. She helps me improve as a parent and feel more whole as a woman, by gradually shifting my mindset, building new healthy habits and supporting me to reach for those big ambitions I still have.
Rebecca Lindsay, HALE SCHOOL, Coordinator of Junior School Music
Fiona and Debbie delivered an engaging professional development session to Hale School's teaching staff, providing them with clear and current evidence-based information about ADHD and exploring the experiences of students with a diagnosis.
Staff valued learning a range of useful and impactful strategies to implement in various teaching contexts and came away feeling able to positively support their students.

In the nature of celebrating wins, I really want to share my appreciation for the sessions. Time has flown! I really feel our sessions have helped put rubber to the road and accelerate the personal growth and development I was wanting, but struggling to create space for - while sticking to it.
I'm feeling much more ready for (and importantly excited for) taking on 2023 and onwards. looking forward to continuing with you when I'm back from holidays. I feel very lucky that __ got us in touch! Thanks
I came to Fiona to discuss some strategies for helping me to support (and cope with!) my verbal processor of a husband as we navigate some very big and exciting changes and opportunities. What I didn’t expect to discover was the power of verbally processing a few things myself in the safety of Fi’s objective and non-judgmental ear. She helped me identify and recognise strategies I already had in place and gently guided me to try a few new tricks.
Although I feel I am a disciplined person I had felt stuck and I found my sessions with Fi gently held me accountable to make small shifts that have made the world of difference. Thank you, Fi, for giving me confidence, calm and clarity - what a gift.
